912E - Original front rotors?

Quick question for the many informed enthusiasts here... I am the current caretaker/ owner of a 912E with 3.0/ 915 conversion from a 1983 SC. A previous owner had it done approx 10 years ago in NY. And it’s been a great car these past 9 months or so.
Question is would a ‘76 912E originally had thinner solid front rotors? Or, would they have been vented 20mm ones like I have on the car now? Pelican Parts references solid rotors when I search under this particular model, but my internet sleuthing this evening seems to indicate vented rotors... Maybe I’m only getting results on 911’s, perhaps.

I’m just curious if my brakes had been upgraded. And just as a FYI, these non-power assist brakes are really good! Nice firm pedal, but I’m going to do a Coronavirus hibernation upgrade with st/st hoses, new pads, new caliper hardware, and hub bearings and seals replacement while I’m in there! Brake components shipping from our host as we speak..!

Gratuitous car photo...

Yes, the 912e used a non vented rotor on the front and rear. It also used the 3.5” brake caliper spacing on the front, so a 911 brake swap is a bolt on procedure.

Thanks very much. I’m pleased that the previous owner had this done, but it’s a shame that no previous swap or even old service records stayed with the car - other than two services in 2011 and 2015.

Now I’ve learned one more thing today about this little coupe - that continues to impress or amaze me (think wiring)... Now I’ll investigate the rear brakes as those rotors are also vented.

I put SC brakes front and rear of my 912E.
They were actually cheaper than 912E stuff.
From what I've read it's a pretty common upgrade.

Good deal. Then it all makes sense. I did, just today, reach out via FBook to the Porsche shop that supposedly did the engine swap to see if they’d confirm or be willing to locate paperwork on the old job or work order. It’s a long shot, but how cool would it be to have the documentation on file..

FWIW, when I upgraded the rears to vented rotors and the wider SC calipers, the weight gain was only 2.1 pounds per side. Small, but unsprung weight nevertheless.

(I just sent the original rear calipers to PMB for resto and some drilled rotors.
These cars are way too light to actually require an upgrade to the rears.)

Fronts are a different story. I replaced the originals with aluminum 'S' calipers and drilled rotors with zero weight penalty.

BTW - not all 912E's came with 3.5 inch spacing on the fronts.
