the new rennline window cranks seem to not fit and will destroy my door panels.

i assume under the crank is the black plastic spacer??If yes add a plastic washer under that one,it will give you another 3 mm

I documented this problem a few months ago in an IG post. I tried a variety of spacers. The stock handle has quite a bit more angle than the Rennline version. Mine rubs and I haven't spent the time to fix it yet. If you put the stock one next to the Rennline version there's like a 1/4" clearance difference.

Might stick some felt on the backside of the crank arm.

Send Rennline an email about it... they are fairly responsive.

"Blake,

Those door cranks are made to the same spec as the factory ones so we did not end up make a variant. Are the door cards bowed at all?

Some door panels are puffier than others. Space out the handle at the stem to remove the rub.

In addition to the rosette below an additional black plastic washer would push your door trim pannel inboard and hopefully give you more clearance

You can space the handle outward as far as the drive spline engagement (handle and window wind stem) allow. A longer screw might help.

See below:
Do you see where a surface a spacer (tube or equiv.) can be inserted?

The max. distance one can mount the handle away from the interior panel is limited by the male/female spline engagement between the handle and the window crank stem.

Other remedies require some fabrication; e.g. window crank stem or spline extension, etc.

Odd because when I held the rennline cranks to a straight edge there is clearly less taper than the stock crank...

do how did this get resolved, i have a similar issue to resolve and the spacer idea seems logical..but what size and if needed and i assume it would be inserted between 6 and 7,

the conical screw to hold the handle, can a longer one be obtained and if so, can someone post a sources/part number?

thanks

I think OP returned his. I tried a few spacers, but either the spacer is visible (which looks bad) or the handle doesn't operate correctly with the spacer in place. I think they would work with a less puffy door card. I'm using the appbiz RSA cards fwiw.

I will look to get a small spacer made that matches the dimensions of the crank, the issue may be the conical screw length?

Crap, I'm in the same boat. My new quilted (puffy) door trim panels will most likely interfere. I have not yet installed to confirm.
