3.4 twin plug, lower ignition wires?
Hi guys,
I converted my 3.2 to a 3.4 twin plug. I tried an experiment with 964 lower valve covers and 964 wires last year but it leaked. For this year, I ordered some Clewett lower wires and waited, and waited (months). I finally called him up and turns out he can't get some of the components he needs to build wire sets. Question: I have 964 distributors, do they have the same connectors as earlier distributors? Question: Can you think of a solution to this problem (find wires for the bottom plugs)? What I tried, was cutting the ends off 964 spark plug wires and trying to screw on Beru plug connectors of the 3.2L vintage. The connector on those have a wood screw. I couldn't get that to work I think because of the central wire in 964 ignition wires, It also didn't help that the wires (7mm) was bigger that the connector opening (5mm?).

The Beru sticks on my '73 has about a 7.3mm hole for the wires, screw attachment.

Lower wires............
This is how I routed the lowers on my twin plug. However, I am using an Electromotive XDi system with the coils mounted on the shelf behind the CIS airbox. The wires are Clewetts top and bottom.

Take stock lower valve covers, machine them to accept the sparkplug terminals and run 964 wires. Make or buy ''hold downs'' for the lower plug terminals.
