What jack for Wilding engine/transmission adapter -

I recently purchased this adapter from our host to do an engine drop solo. I'm having trouble finding a floor jack that will actually accept the pin.

Any recommendations?

what adapter.

I made this to use with my tranny jack.
I like the tranny jack because I can change the angle of the engine on the jack to match the angle of the car on stands.
also it has 4 swivel wheels that lets me move the engine sideways once under the car.

I have always done engine removals by myself even with a standard floor jack,.
I made this for the 930 engine because it was a bit heavier and had more weight towards the rear.

a little tip for getting the engine out from under the car:
remove the front wheels and drop the front end down as far as you car to raise the rear,.
I do have to remove my rear bumper but I can get the 930 engine out with everything still on it if I want,

My adapter is quite different, It's a Porsche tool very pricey but works really well especially with the extra length and added weight of 930, G50, 964 and 993 trans.

For the jack I bought a dedicated middle of the road price range floor jack and drilled the carrier to fit the post. was not easy but this setup has worked great for 20 years or longer.

I just pulled this 88 turbo motor on sunday and the complete assy is so stable on the jack it would be impossible to fall off or slip.

I like the cradle for the middle of the engine.
I have thought about making something like that out of wood.

mine is actually bolted to the jack.
I wiggled the snot out of it (hanging from a hoist just in case) with it on my jack to see if it would fall off.

its still about the balance point though, it helps

All the newer jacks have gone to the non removable saddle.
Even the latest rendition from Pelican is fixed saddle, not to support the previously sold adaptors
I got a removable saddle jack from Northern Tool last year for around $100, but it sure is heavy.

Hey Bruce,

What was the model of the jack from Northern Tool?

I just went thru this very recently and purchased this jack from Pep Boys. The down control speed was horrible so I used a vice grip on the handle to help throttle it. You'll see the jack towards the end of my old post.

Are these solutions better then the ATV jack? I use this and a regular floor jack to help support and angle the trans. BTW, interesting idea about removing the front wheels. What do you support the front on?
