Alarm key

I just noticed that my 911SC has the lock in the drivers door for the factory alarm, but I have only 1-key for the car and this isn't it (or is it?)

so...what are my options on getting my key for this?

There are a few threads on this subject, search through them. You have to get the lock re-keyed. As I remember, many suggested not using the factory alarm. Seems as though they can malfunction and prevent the car from starting.

Brought my P-car and the owner didn't have the key for the alarm in the door jamb. Thought about ttrying to get a locksmith tomake or rekey the lock for me. Ended up buying a new lock with key from the local porsche dealer. It was about a 1/2 hour job to replace the lock.

Lock is a special cylinder with electrical connection, a simple key electrical lock will not work. I think there is a special resistance to the circuit.

This was the same with us. We have not had a dealership re-key it yet.
