Recaro seats , Porsche seat rails?

I am looking for some Recaro cloth seats for my 82 911 SC. I have been told that that the seat rails off my factory Porsche Recaro seats will work on the aftermarket Recaro versions. Is this true, or is an adaptor or special rails needed? The Recaros I am hopping to find are the Recaro SE type. The reason I ask, is I seem to recall a fellow PCA member having trouble mounting these in his 79. I know 73 and earlier need a space adaptor.
Derek

I mounted Recaro SRDs on my '83 SC factory rails, no modification needed at all. My stock seats were full leather, not the Recaro sport seats.

They bolt right on - I too have SRD's on factory rails.

I have a set of cloth Recaro SE's (fold down type) in my SC and they did bolt on to the factory rails. I felt some sideways movement though when hard cornering so later on added a set of Recaro brackets or sliders.

Regards,
Markus

Recaro SE's bolted right to my SC rails and into the car. Nice upgrade.

The Recaro seats match nicely with stock rails from 73+ non-electric seats. The electric adjustable seats have a triangular riser welded to the rail - wont work without cutting that off, and thats a one-way street!
