Show us your Social Distancing projects

I was really bored and $$ for car projects is way down the priority list at the moment.
Got to keep busy though:

Two days and several coatings of paint stripper later:

And the best thing is it was almost free.

What P-car things are you guys doing with your “time off”

Hahaha, +1 on the oil lines, tank clean up and auxiliary oil cooler thermostat switch swap. Wouldn’t have gone down this slippery and painful slope it it weren’t for being in hunker down mode. Your oil lines look prettier. How did you get the darker pipe stains out?

Also pulled my clutch cable. Pretty sure its original so I was going to replace it but it looked great no wires frayed. I put it in a bucket so both ends were pointed up and sprayed lube down the cables and worked them back and forth til the lube got all the way around the tube. Now smooth as silk. Also almost free.

Mine seemed have some old underbody coating on them and black paint under that.
Strange. But just used 5-6 coats of paint strip and ScotchBrite pads. I’m hoping all that effort will make the car at least 10mph faster

Auxilary oil cooler, thermostat and pipe threads survived my onslaught. Those replacement parts are very expensive. Need to replace the 4 flexible lines.

I don’t doubt that. But that brass is just so nice looking.

Redid my pedals too. Some of the extraction was painful but the end results made it worth it.

After

And whoever figured this out to reinstall the spring is The Man

You don't want to know! Heck, the wiring harness alone cost about $4K! Then there is the cost of the associated sensors and MoTec M130 ECU......

Flojo can you make them longer so you can see the entire script? That’s how I did mine. I like those what’s the material. I used a lanyard to make mine.

Well I can’t do crap right now so I’m cleaning and organizing the garage while I wait on parts.

I ordered a bunch of stuff from Pelican yesterday. I had been compiling a list for a while so I could take advantage of the PCA once a year discount. Went to order and one part was no longer available from the supplier I had chosen so I picked from among what was offered.

I checked out. Got the confirmation email. Parts scheduled to arrive on the 15th. Next week... ok, fine. Then I realized MAY 15th, not April. Rats.

Then last night I got another email that 2 parts shipped from the Atlanta warehouse and will be here today. Wow. Never knew there was an Atlanta warehouse.

Maybe the rest won’t be so long.

With my luck the one part that holds up the show will arrive the day before the quarantine is lifted, I’ll get slammed at work and these parts will still be sitting on the bench in December.

You can't buy happiness, but you can buy car parts which is kind of the same thing.

shipping is a pita right now world wide due to current situation.
ask me how I know.
all US clients either wait way beyond regular delivery schedule or I face issues validating a parcel because DHL dropped the selection option so I can't ship at all.
this changes every two days.
bummer.
