Be brave!

I feel the same way mostly...

Mostly though drilling is not the problem just want the wiring done right.

Don't know about 3.2 Carrera's, here's a couple pictures of the parts that I might install in my 1990. There are plugs that come off wire bundle for each side.

So the photo with the light working is not constant but working in conjunction with the turn signals?

*****EDIT******
- Found the wires hidden in my front trunk and with my meter it appears those connections will work. The light on the meter works in conjunction with the turn signal when engaged. Not sure why the wires were so buried and taped up but found them thanks to the above posts and just digging through things...so, thanks!

These are what I was ordering:

https://www.rosepassion.com/en/91161217702-p18279-side-flashing-cable-harness-P18279?devise=USD&pays=US

But also found these:
https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-porsche-parts/wiring-harness-for-fender-mounted-side-marker/91161217702/?gclid=CjwKCAiA_vKeBhAdEiwAFb_nrVXv1RYKM9v-7P1UPKBdOxzwatN0QMuwxM38QopyauoArlrNxqcDThoCSJAQAv D_BwE

Looks like the same wires with the same part number for my 86' that you have.

I did find one connector on the driver side (buried and taped - not sure why) and the passenger side appears to have been cut (if it's the right wires/connection) by the previous owner and tucked up inside. Previous owner was very quick to cut wires in this car sadly. My stereo install was eye opening.

Thanks for your input!

Erik

Looked at the receipt for the lights and wire harness, purchased from our host.

Side marker light 4A0-949-101-M44

Harness 911-612-177-02

And yes, photo with light was flashing with the emergency flasher/ turn signals

Hoping to do this project this spring.

Do those two grommets already have holes drilled into the chassis, or do we need to make them? I have my car in a shell, and it's the perfect time to modify, if needed.

This is on my 1990 Carrera 2

On my 86 the holes were there. Hiding behind the "liner" layer.

Not my photo:

Maybe the photo will help if this is what you are asking about?

I don't seem to have those on my 90, here is my shell on both sides.

I may see what you're talking about, so let me feel around tehre and see if I can make a hole.

Thanks. We found the hole covered with factory undercoat, so easy enough to remove at this point.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1760715941.jpg

Great news for you.

If yours is like my 86 don't wait to install the wiring after putting things back together. Not sure I could install without removing the door so food for thought.

I really like having the side markers now with all the double turning lanes around most cities...
