Wheel lock key missing
I recently purchased a 1989 - 911. I was checking the torque and noticed under the lug nut was a special anti-theft key on each wheel. Contacted PO, but not luck so far finding the key. The Key should be a modified lug with four "fingers" that fit into a unique pattern. PO said there should be a letter on the key which identifies the key, but I cant see a letter, I've checked all four keys. PO said mfg is GT Wheel LOX, which I cant find on the internet. Anyone know of this company, or suggestion on how to remove lock?
Thanks, Kazoo-Mal |

Can you post a picture of what you've got to work with?

Had same problem. Porsche dealer removed locks for free and ordered new locks from PP. GOOD LUCK!

LOL - re-fit wheel locks?Uh, no. Get them removed and throw them away, replace with lug nuts to suit. Really don't think it's the 80's anymore; your radio and wheels are probably quite safe. What would they fit?
Wheel lock or key help Locking lug nut How do I remove a broken Lug nut??? Chisel/punch or a hole saw seems to be the consensus...

Anyone remember the guy who couldn't get a wheel lock off, and his answer was to saw off the wheel?! IIRC it was on a Honda or Acura forum?
edit: Looks like the pics no longer load, but the story's still saved there for posterity. ![]() https://honda-tech.com/forums/general-discussion-debate-40/so-dont-buy-vw-2684546/ Found one of the pics on Vortex, towards the bottom of this page: https://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?987787-I-lost-my-wheel-lock-key!-What-do-I-do

Did you check everywhere?
I found a key for mine under the driver's seat... friends found them in ash trays, glove boxes, trunk, etc. |
