Early rear bumper seal

Hi All,
I just want to check with you before I proceed with mounting my rear bumpers with new seals. I did not tear the car down, so I don't know what it's supposed to be.

From what I found searching the web, the seal goes to the body. In front of the rear light the body has a lip where the seal can go (it is an original Porsche seal with tape).

Then, if mounted to the body, the seal will be taped to the rear light seal. Is this right?
