Alternator Wiring Question

Just purchased a new alternator and the wiring lugs are different than the existing alternator. I assume the wiring is the same as the original. Can somebody confirm?

Thanks

Vance.. it's hard to tell from the second picture but does your old alternator have an internal regulator? Do you have a picture of the old one after you removed it?

Alternator wiring connections.......

Vance,

Have you checked with the alternator supplier about the correct wiring connections. People who are not familiar with this alternator might inadvertently give you the incorrect information. I have the RED, BLUE, and BROWN wires for late SC’s alternators in my notebook when I removed them and installed back after the rebuild.

But hesitant to offer them to you due the unidentified terminals of your alternator. Unless you find someone with an identical alternator, you are taking a big risk. Worse scenario, bring the alternator to someone who knows alternator like the back of his hand.

BTW, some years ago, I bought an aluminum Trailex from Ohio and your name sounds familiar. Was that you? Thanks.

Tony

If one looks closely at the new alternator, it's marked on each diode plate the polarity.
The upper right has a plus (B+), the lower left is battery light, and the lower right is the ground wire (-).
You can use an ohmmeter to verify the plate polarities.

Here is a pic of my old alternator. Note how they are marked, whereas the new one has no markings. Teh new alternator is a Bosch alternator from our host, Part #: 911-603-120-HX-MI4

Dave - Thanks. That is what I concluded after looking at the markings on both.
