Oil light clock delete
Thinking of replacing the clock on my 78 3.2 hot rod with a big oil pressure light.
I’ve seen the Patrick Motorsports kit but want an orange light. There must be an orange 80mm round tail light available? |

In for an answer to this as well.
And I can't get that rallylights link to work on either my computer or my phone.

Other options could be trailer lights, motorcycle lights.
There are a lot of options. |

Using a trailer light in my track car. I keep looking for a split light in the same size - half amber, half red so I can add the alternator light to warn of a failed cooling fan.

I know you aren't looking to completely change your setup but I still thought it might be worth sharing -
Modern EFI setups have safety programs in place where they can limit the engine RPM if oil pressure is below X. You can set the parameters differently for different RPMs / pressures too. Similar safety programs for fuel pressure, oil temp, etc. You could have it drop to 1500 rpm max so you can limp back to pits or 0 and just shut off to save the motor. The middle of the road EFI setups and higher-end alike offer CAN bus now so you can install one CAN bus gauge where the clock goes and have it monitor any data you want: oil pressure, boost, CHT, oil temp, ign advance, AFR, knock threshold....and all of this goes thru the same two wires that you run to the gauge from the ECU. I'll see myself out now...

Sorry
I have posted lamps that are suitable for 60mm diameter dash holes, those would be suitable for 356s, not for 911s. |
