Right turn right

Hi all ,

It was always was in my mind , to have one air-cooled ..

Recently , as happening , was driving nonstandard route from work and saw It ..
My ladies said , well its nice and red , just for ladies ..

So , Carrera 3.2 , 1987 , red , 180 KMilies, fully original with matching numbers.
Decent service history , quite number of papers came with car covering work on the car from very beginning ..

Re-import from Canada , two previous owners in , well lets say on the other Sea side , one owner here in Germany and now im happy to say we ..

Car was taken to restauration shop here in Germany after import, for from my perspective, based on bills, general check and service with interior cleaning ..

Story goes that previous owner in Germany , which made 2K miles with the car after import in 2016, was taking a car for drive , had low speed impact due to wet surface ..

Due to running projects , i have , no time currently to start any work , but have time to collect infos, advice and suggestions .

From perspective of support in written , im happy to have few book in hands :

101 Project : Dempsey
Porsche 911 Engines 1965 - 89 : Dempsey
POrsche 911 65 - 89 Haynes Repair manual
And Bentley manual on the way ..

As mentioned , this phase is collecting infos, next phase will be damage evaluation, advice`s and suggestions ..

With believe in Pelican society as support , Few pics taken upon arrival to garage ..

Regards, till I dont coome back with questions , or , more than happy to answer , if any questions ..

Agaton

Fender and hood gaps would be a major concern to me.

Thx bkreigs.

Yes , Fender and hood , additionally , front wheel angle leaning toward inner well ..

But more details will follow , once front left side is dismantled ..

Now , would like to start collecting few info`s from all you guys .

My biggest concert is frame , if frame is out of crucial lines ..

Have found tone of pics and diagrams , but it seams for pre 73 cars .
Not sure if diagrams , or chassis maps with crucial measurements and measuring points can be applied to 87 Carrera`s ...

If anyone could confirm that , can i use chassis diagram and measurements for pre 73 cars , or something newer needs to be found ..

I could not find any chassis diagram in books i mentioned in first post ..
Potentially Bentley manual will carry one ..

If anyone have appropriate chassis measuring points with reference dimensions , will be grateful if this can be shared with me , either here in the thread or PM ..

When we talk about basic measuring points I could use to check frame from the top side of car , which points should i focus on ..

Second question would be , when we talk about left fender, what`s the span of manufacturing years when searching for used fenders , or which carrera models i could take in consideration during search .

Thank`s

Agaton

FYI, these cars have no frame.
Everything is bolted onto the main uni-body/cabin structure.

Hi bkreigsr,
Good tech hint , now i know more about my car , so no frame ..

Well , than lets substitute word frame to the word Body or Chassis or Karosserie ..

Whichever , we agree its most appropriate to continue with answers i need to plan future steps in damage evaluation ..
