I do not think your problem is losing prime as the pump is lower than the fuel level, and I have never heard of a prime problem. I would put a CIS gauge set on your system and troubleshoot from there. Rob

Fuel pump running.........

The ‘75 has the FP running with the ignition switch @ ON position. Allow the FP to run several seconds before turning the ignition switch to START.

Even without a prime it should start with the cold start valve. Joe

There is a check valve on the fuel pump in the banjo fitting
Inexpensive, change it to hold pressure to the CIS.

I believe he replaced the FP which comes with a brand new check valve if I'm not mistaken.
