Resistor Plugs in Non Resistor Application?
I'm about to put a Pertronix Ignitor 2 in my 74-77 (formerly points) distributor to run my 10.3 CR 3.2L SC engine. I also have an MSD/Blaster2 CDI. I set the plug gap @.040"
I have used in the past both NGK BP6ES and Bosch W7DC plugs. Looks like there are no more plugs being produced in this range by these 2 manufacturers. Can I switch to the resistor type plugs and still be OK? Will there be any problems or loss of performance with resistor plugs? Thanks.

As of this writing, NGK and Clewett have confirmed that there should be no negative effects from using resistor plugs.

I have not been able to get through to MSD tech support, but everything I have been reading online indicaates that resistor plugs should not be a problem with their units.
Looking forward to my MSD/Pertronix/Clewett?BP6ERS combination.

I ran into the same problem with finding NGK BP6ES. Dont be fooled by the NGK BP6ES on Amazon and Ebay. They are counterfeit. I purchased the NGK BPR6ES from a reputable mechanic shop. Was told NGK does not make BP6ES. Works fine with my MSD 6A and Petronix with Blaster coil.

Thanks Slant. Glad to hear that.
Ivan, I don't know. I've always used BP6 or W7 Bosch so I've never looked for W4CC.
