How the HELL do you remove the tie rods?

I am I just worn out from working in 110-degree heat in my garage today in Phoenix, Arizona, or am I doing something wrong?!?

Just removed everything but can't get the outer tierod to unscrew from the "rod" Shot PB in it several times, walked away, drank a little drink, and still won't budge!

Suggestions or nuggets of wisdom? I swear the ball joints are the originals from 1967!!! Augghhhh

I used a pickle fork (ball joint tool) to span the inboard end and vise grips on the handle to turn each tie rod out.

Get a map gas torch and heat that end until it's glowing, repeat this several times then it should turn free. Some people heat then quench with penetrant or even water in a spray bottle but I find just the heat alone works.

Run it through the diswasher.

if they are the non turbo ones as they appear to be i just bend them down 90 degrees and use the rod end as a wrench to break them loose.

Two things you can try. Put the box end of a decent sized wrench over the ball stud and use the wrench for leverage. You can also use a pipe wrench to grip the outer tie rod. The harder you pull on a pipe wrench, the harder it bites.

Update:

Picked up a MAP gas set up and heated the threads up, took a few tries but it finally came loose. I don't think these have been off the car since new!!!!

Thanks for the help guys, I recorded a video of pulling my front suspention apart for anyone in the future who wants to watch it.

What Colingreen said. Use the tie rod as wrench. Get it to bend naturally at the inner pivot, close to 90 degrees and force it to turn counter clockwise. It will not break free. It will feel like your breaking somthing. The fun continues until you have turned it several revolutions. Did mine a couple weeks ago. Got to muscle up big boy.

I finally got everything torn apart and rebuilt, not hard at all... mostly just time-consuming the first time you do it. I recorded the entire process and over the next few days will edit and post the videos for those who want to see whats involved in rebuilding the front suspension in an early Porsche 911 or 912.

Here is the first video:
