75' 911 backdate build

Hi all, I've been lurking on the forum as a viewer for a long time and have finally gotten around to registering so I can start a build thread on my project. A few details.
75' 911s , CA lifer, originally sold in San Fransisco in 78'?
Steel turbo fenders and complete quarters
Backdated long hood and s style bumpers by getty design
95 993 3.6 engine
Late 915 trans
I'll reveal some more details and pictures as things develop, the car is almost through body work and close to paint so things should start getting exciting!

Here we are back in 2015. This was a year or so after the purchase. It had a complete early 930 cosmetic package down to the correct interior but was running a 2.7...I got the COA in hopes of an m491 trim code... Nope. I talked to some friends in porsche community , got a few phone numbers and talked to three people directly at porsche (America and Germany to try and determine if it was a factory custom ordered car.... Nope...Side note, the car is a 75' and on the title it lists the year of first registration as 78'. I took the plunge and decided to completely strip it to find out how the rear quarters had been flared and determine the true condition of things. What I found raises interesting questions that are yet to be solved. The car was black, and as I removed paint using a variety of plastic wheels
On angle and die grinders it became obvious the car had been stripped bare before the black paint job, that was blistering from what looks like water contamination. The COA listed the original color as Gazelle(gold). While disassembling the car I found a bunch of cranberry metalic overspray in nooks and crannies which I identified as porsche Salmon.
I pulled the front and rear glass and found the time capsule.Gazelle, Salmon, Black. 70's, 80's, 90's. The car was PNO in 2005 .No one had ever pulled the glass out through all that paint work . You could see each color clearly in the troughs under the window rubber. I stripped the rear quarter first and was pretty pleased to find out the whole quarter had been swapped the same way they did it at the factory at that time, and really they did a pretty good job of it one both sides. What makes it more interesting is that when maaco , (yup, thats right , I found a maaco work tag burried away in the smugglers box ), stripped the car previously they weren't thorough ,big suprise.. But they're lacking left me a gift in clues , I found traces of the original gazelle body color in multiple places on the rear quarters. That's evidence to me that the 930 conversion was done early in the cars life, possibly in the three year period at the beginning of its life when it wasnt registered. It was sold at the dealers in San Francisco but they aren't there anymore, and have moved to a new facility. I spoke to them and didnt have any luck with more information. Im in the process of tracking down previous owners and my hope is to have the whole story before the car is finished. Now that most of the backstory is out of the way I'll post a few nudes

I'm experiencing the same thing, I've tried to upload pictures a few times and nothing's happening. I'll keep on it and get it figured out, luckily I'm better with cars than technology.

Pelican's server doesn't like PNG images, you'll need to convert to JPG.

Thanks for the tip Arne , that was problem. Once converted to jpeg the pictures load right up!

Going through the stages. I'm extremely fortunate to have both the talent and experience of a fantastic body shop in charge of the body modifications and refinements. The great part is they know where not to take things too far and lose authenticity, for example overly tight door gaps just aren't right for a 911.

Thanks, I feel really lucky that it turned out to be a really clean car, virtually rust free!
