1973 porsche 911 window spring noise

I replaced the regulator spring on my window and now the spring makes an annoying noise when winding up and down. Any ideas for a remedy? has anyone else run into this?

I replaced mine a few years ago. No noises. Maybe some part of the mechanism is not in alignment or maybe things need lubricating inside?

Reach in, spray some WD40 on it. May or may not be permanent fix ...but sure beats taking thing out to correct whatever.

Are you positive the spring is installed correctly? If so the window should be very easy to roll up or down. If it is difficult to roll-up and makes a creaking noise it could be the spring is installed incorrectly. I only say this because I have pulled a few windows where P.O.'s have replaced the window spring pin but did not put the spring back in correctly. It is easy to get this wrong.

If the window is easy to roll up or down then odds are the pin and spring are installed correctly and the sound would likely be a different issue.

You did lube the track the window slides along too, correct?

Thanks for all the help. I greased the spring with some heavy grease and it went away. Seemed like the new spring was getting hung up on itself.
