Question Windshield wipers not working all of a sudden - fuse is fine

Yesterday, to my surprise and consternation, I found that my wipers were inop. They've always worked fine up until now. I just checked the fuse and it's fine (and I get power to both sides of the fuse). I'm hoping that the motor hasn't decided to fail on me, so have any of you guys seen this scenario and if so, what has been the problem?

Scott,

Had something similar happen to me. Wipers worked when I shut the car off, and the next morning they didn't. Turned out it was the switch. I don't know anything about the electricals (a friend diagnosed this problem for me), so I can't comment on your getting power to both sides of the fuse. Good luck!

Turned out it was the switch, eh? Hmm. I can deal with that a lot more easily than trying to get back to the wiper motor, which is back behind the fresh air blower in the trunk, which is a PIA to R&R.

check your ground wire at the wiper motor, you can access it from behind the clock, if it is connected then move to the switch. good luck

Wiper problems must be going around. Mine just stopped too. I should be able to diagnose it later this week.

I just have another little project to finish first.

John Walker is talking about the connections that are under the dash right over your left knee.

I have a good switch that I snapped the stalk off of that can be used to test it. If you want to try it the only question is how to get it to you. I work in Irvine (near Jamboree and 405) and I know you live farther south. Tell me if you want to see if we can cross paths and test it.
