Shipping your 911
Apologies if this is the wrong forum to post but does anyone have any recommendations on shippers to move your 911 across the country?
Any ones not to use? I have a couple of quotes, one from Tempus Logix for two cars in an enclosed carrier that seems reasonable. Thanks in advance, I plan on moving back east at the end of the month. Including my pictures of my car just because. ![]() ![]() ![]()

It's a bit of a crapshoot, many vendors are just brokers and it's anyone's guess which truck and driver they will line up for you.
Unless you are going to find an owner/operator or someone running their own fleet, which seems quite expensive. When I have shipped cars, it has come down to bbb complaint history, online feedback, and phone vibe if any. Sent from my Nokia 7.1 using Tapatalk |

While in the Navy, I moved my 911 cross-country twice (San Diego to Washington DC and back) and used Intercity. A little more expensive, but I felt the cost was well worth it. In both cases, the car came off the transporter exactly like it went on. Just my experience.

I've used Uship with Good results. Privateers. For the most part.

I recently purchased a car on the west coast and had it shipped to the east coast on Reliable Carriers. I was very impressed with their equipment and the care they took with my car. They even had it covered with special cloths during the trip. After researching and reading the horror stories some people have had with cut-rate shippers I decided to spend the money and get the best so I only got quotes from Reliable and Intercity. They were within $100 of each other.

RacerX, if you get quotes, can you post comparisons from UShip randoms and compare that to Intercity and Reliable? Others will find it helpful to see the cost difference.

SGTAUTOTRANSPORT $4879.00 TEMPPUSLOGIX $4,829.00 TEMPPUSLOGIX $4,206 cash I am totally skeeved by Temppuslogix and not sure what I am requesting at this point even though it started with a request for an enclosed truck and when I called they told me to fill out an email form to get the price. No mention of enclosed in their quotes, just a request of a $315 non refundable deposit. I requested the Intercity quote before I started reading your message and got a reply during the typing of this. Intercity $4,190.00, which sounds much better than the Temppuslogix. I am waiting for the Reliable quote.

I had a terrible time with Montway. Failed to show, then turned up four days later with a flat bed. Then didn’t show back up for another week and took a very long route to Chicago. As a broker, they intermediate only and have little control over actual company they bid quote out to. Service levels drop to the level of the end shipper who was bad.
Heard Reliable are more expensive but are good and traffic LA East a lot. Mine came from PNW where they weren’t often. |

I used Reliable to ship my '84 Carrera and Mini Cooper from LA to Charleston. Took great care with both cars and both arrived with no issues. Slightly more expensive but as Sugarwood said above, they transport a lot of cars for Pebble Beach so they know how to handle a classic.

Check with your insurance to see if they cover while in transit

Let us know what price Reliable comes back with, but both Intercity and Reliable have best in class reputations. How do you like the GTI ? Awesome choice for a daily.

I used Intercity Lines to ship my 74 Carrera. Great people, good communication while in shipment, and on time with no damage. I highly recommend them.

I have had good experiences with Intercity. Used them a half dozen times. YMMV.

I love my GTI, it is the best value for a car that does everything. I bought a black on black SE stick in 2018 with the 6 year, 72,000 mile warranty . I swallows 60 in TVs and will hang with a lot of quick cars. I haven't done any mods yet, I want to get through most of the warranty first.
