I always knew the weight delta was significant, but these hard data are a real eye opener. Another great reason to consider M&K...

Data. Documented. Interesting I checked M&K weight on these components and mine are just a bit under. Confirming why I like buying parts from individual/small suppliers. Like, no robots, man. And we all know the quality/art of Brian’s welding at M&K. I keep track of what comes off and what goes on. Use an old, but calibrated (I have a set of standards from a tag sale find) Hanson scale. It’s not 100% cuz sometimes I skip it and just put the parts on and then think ok I’m not taking that off. At the end - will just weigh the car. Time to install. Debating starting car without the muffler.

I did that when I changed my muffler. Still had the cat/pre-muffler on, but it was exceedingly loud and sounded like ass. Mighta been different at high RPM under load, but idling, not so great...

Did you have a cat on, or a pre-muffler?

Here's a vid of first cold startup with a Dansk pre-muffler and the Bisimoto Pulse Chamber muffler (without sound arrestor). On the one hand, a cool lil' piece of kit and on the other hand... a glorified muffler delete.

And for grins, here's the unit at shutdwown...

It's fun in a super juvenile sorta way and super lightweight, but won't be on for long. I have an M&K Active Exhaust pre-muffler en route. I'll settle on a final muffler choice after I have that installed.

Probably a cat, but I'm not sure. Haven't really paid it a lot of attention.

Got these installed today. Fitment was exact. Bolted the headers on, set up the straps to attach to engine mount, the headers and 2in/1out all aligned 100%. Was pleasantly surprised when I connected the battery, checked for neutral and in 2 seconds the garage was resonating with flat 6 goodness avec M&K.

I run the Bisimoto with the sound arrestor. Is it obnoxious...yeah. But It's fun and I have had a crap-ton of compliments on it. Same people that knew me when I owned a GT4 tell me they like the old 911 with the Bisi sound more.

Initial sound clip at idle, car is on jack stands. In my opinion the sound of this M&K system is steely, crisp, tight and toasty with a hint of opulence, and overall intellectually stimulating. I'm excited to wind this engine up to redline.

I have a 1988 3.2 with a pre muffler and a M&K single in/out. Sounds similar. Wait until you wind it out. It's pretty amazing. Video is at idle, sounds tough.

NEW observation after 150 miles of use - engine runs cooler and steady at 180F. With old "system" temps climbed when stuck in traffic - towards 240F. It's anecodtal - but I think the M&K no heat headers allow more efficient cooling of the engine. Real or? Anyone else observe this?
