Can You Rebuild 911 Hood Struts

I ask the question because my 1971 Targa struts don’t hold the hood up any longer and noticed when removing them they have 1971 dates stamped on them.
Is there a rebuilder out there that would repair without repainting to keep the original stamping?

I don't believe they are rebuildable. Buy new or get mechanical ones from Rennline
