15x11 Replica fuchs wheel: big brakes do not fit

Beware to anyone looking at these wheels for a rsr tribute.

Went to test fit 15x11 et -27 replica Fuchs wheel purchased for my RSR project on a 911 with Boxster brakes (15's normally fit this setup). These replica wheels have a very small face and a very angled taper from the face out toward the barrel. This leaves little to no room for any caliper other than something single-piston. The boxster caliper hits the tapered inner barrel preventing the wheel from seating properly. It looks as though a 15-20mm spacer could bring the wheel out enough but then the wheel will undoubtedly be poking past the fender (on a 11-inch flared car).

Braid BZ 15x11's fit with plenty of room. The wheel barrel has little to no taper in it.

The wheels are made by Maxilite. I found no markings anywhere showing where they are made on the wheels or on the box the wheel came in.

I have just one 15x11 bought to test fit first with the bigger brakes. I would sell the wheel for what I paid $400 (you can still buy another one online).

They will not fit over turbo brakes either due to the extreme taper in the barrel. It really looks as though the conpany that modeled these used the face of a 14"-sized Fuchs. It looks cool but restricts brake options to 911 brakes/early aluminum calipers. The barrel at the middle where the face of the wheel is must be 12"!

That's just stupid. If you have wheels and tires that big it is reasonable to assume the car has decent brakes. These made in China? Sounds like something they would do.

These look like the ones for sale on "the bay" right now. Not sure where they are made but they are TUV approved (per the advert anyway), so likely not garbage, just poorly thought out offset design.

These are those wheels. They look solid and are of decent quality. It is just too bad that they are basically useless for their target application.

Can you grind them are they a mile out? Also, 930 calipers may be different dimensionally.

FYI, I just test fit a set of the newer 15x9 and 15x11's from Maxilite on M491 with factory turbo brakes. The fronts fit no problem, the rears fit as well, but are tight.

can you share a pic of the -27 ET 15x11s fitment on the rears please? I didnt think they would fit with the turbo swing arms/hub with the spacer removed being they stick out for far from the fender.

I have a pair of rears that I bought a while ago .
Didn’t even open the box yet .
I also have a 930 rear arm and brakes etc. in the garage .

I’ll do a trial fit later or tomorrow

I believe I did have the factory spacers on the car when I test mounted them. (The car is not with me at the moment). I don't recall them sticking way out past the rear fender.

FWIW, I am not running those wheels on my M491. I WAS going to run them on my backdated RSR tribute, BUT I sort of fell in love with the ST look late in the project so now I have 10" Minilites with Boxster brakes on the car now.

If I did run them on the M491 I would have likely slightly shaved the turbo caliper corners a tiny bit to give them a touch more clearance.

I should probably put them up for sale (they have TB 15's mounted on them) but they are just so cool to look at.

Ditch the Boxster calipers, 951 front calipers have better brake bias with the 24 mm Carrera rotors

I would assume if you're going to put big brakes on that you'd put 17" wheels on to guarantee enough room.
