Is there a 'things to check during a CIS overhaul' thread anywhere?

I know there are a lot of threads, I'm asking specifically if there is a 'list of components to check' when refurbishing one.... I have plastic lines... I've heard that I should maybe scrap all of them and go to hardlines? Stuff like that. Just getting ready to put things back together and don't want a fire
