From the sidelines I've been watching you debate doing this drive, I'm really happy for you that it's going well. 24 years ago I did my first drive home and contracted the disease on that day, honey had no idea what I brought into the house. Whoooooeee it wasn't long and she figured it out!

I feel sorry for the old guy, know he will regret his decision to sell.

Good to hear, I bought a 1988 3.2 in Florida. I flew down to Jacksonville and drove it home to Winnipeg, Canada. Drove through Valdosta! Drove about the same speed as well, saw an effortless 100+ a few times. Got chased by a tornado in Iowa. Great trip.

Excellent, glad it’s going well, they are great long distance machines.

Please post some pictures!

Thanks for sharing the adventure.

You've got two threads on this. I replied to the other already.

Good luck. I hope this drive is the first on many for you and your two new loves. Many happy returns.

You mention getting used to the 915, don’t rush the shifts, a very slight pause in neutral as you shift up or down will work wonders in your smoothness and in the life of the gearbox....

Enjoy the drive

I'm pleased it has worked out well and you are loving the car.

The funny thing is after you have driven the 911 for a few hours every other car feels a bit weird LOL

When you get to Valdosta, if you need anything, let me know. I'm only about 30 minutes from there.

The was a nice comment Fred. One of the reasons this forum is such a treasure.
Good luck and drive carefully. I’m jealous because I’m stuck in a hospital bed and the only thing I get to drive is the nurses crazy.
