I like projects! Thoughts on making my own 911 coupe Foam Engine Compartment Sound Pad? Looks easy...have my old one as a template.

If you have accurate measurements, a laser cutter, and the right material, it would be a piece of cake. The right material seems to be the hard part.

I used some of this and glued it in with contact cement. Eyeballed it in.

how long?

It was what they offered and I use the foam for other things as they pop up.

If I had it to do over again I would get a Lizard Skin kit of both their sound deadener and their ceramic under coating. My project would be coat the whole firewall with both first. then I would buy the best quality foam pad I found and just glue that in. Probably the same time spent, a fun project still, and the best outcome. Just my 2 cents, and you got it for free so......take it for what it's worth.

i found that Porsche dealer sells it fairly cheap. a lot less than most others. $97
