I like projects! Thoughts on making my own 911 coupe Foam Engine Compartment Sound Pad? Looks easy...have my old one as a template.

If you have accurate measurements, a laser cutter, and the right material, it would be a piece of cake. The right material seems to be the hard part.

This seems a strange one when you can buy a proper one for the car for so little money

My search terms were: Closed Cell Sponge Foam. I ordered the 1/2" thick, 17" wide and 80" long material from Artlife. They no longer have the one I ordered.

They have this: https://www.amazon.com/Artilife-Neoprene-Perfect-Cosplay-Padding/dp/B08FX3V8Z7/ref=dp_prsubs_sccl_2/134-3904841-5801715?pd_rd_w=KOAda&content-id=amzn1.sym.b3f15950-3c9d-4907-ad05-73533fd419e9&pf_rd_p=b3f15950-3c9d-4907-ad05-73533fd419e9&pf_rd_r=YD3SC7Y635V4AWPQR1CH&pd_rd_wg=iONGj&pd_rd_r=a6f91304-466d-429e-a54b-13e2da06c355&pd_rd_i=B08FX3V8Z7&psc=1

It was what they offered and I use the foam for other things as they pop up.

If I had it to do over again I would get a Lizard Skin kit of both their sound deadener and their ceramic under coating. My project would be coat the whole firewall with both first. then I would buy the best quality foam pad I found and just glue that in. Probably the same time spent, a fun project still, and the best outcome. Just my 2 cents, and you got it for free so......take it for what it's worth.
