S&G vs HF fuel pressure test kit
I made a separate thread here to make it easier for anyone doing a search in the future.
Tony recommended the S&G 33800 but I had trouble finding one and went with the SGT88365. I will keep it simple. I bought two HF Master Fuel Pressure kits. They both had massive leaks at the gauge coupling and other swaged fittings that could not be repaired with just an O ring. Both were junk. When I returned the first one I offered to show her where the leaks were. She said don’t bother, we just throw these away when they are returned. What does that tell you? I will keep one just for all the adapters that came with it. Received my S&G 33865 yesterday and used it today. What a difference in quality. Hoses and fitting and valve are all higher quality. Not one single leak. It was about $40 more than the HF kit and well worth the difference. If you own a car with CIS and are DIYer you really need a set of fuel pressure gauges. S&G are the ones to get. Regards |

Harbor Freight, you need not say anymore. These are the guys that made defective jack stands. Jack stands, stuff that kills you if they fail. Want to know what I buy from Harbor Freight? Hammers and punches. Stuff that you pound with, nothing subtle.

I should have also mentioned the S&G has a pressure relief button which the HF does not. Best to wrap a rag around it before pressing as it can shoot fuel quite a ways. And last but not least, no need to remove Shrader valves from every piece because there are none. |
