Anyone lookinf for a nice 930?

Saw this car on Ebay - one of the most beutiful Turbo's I think Ive ever seen - 65,000 miles and a Buy It Now for $29K and change.

No affiliation - just really taken by it.

The little pickup in the background looks good...

Hmmm, he calls it a "crotch rocket" too.

I don't know if it's the lighting or what, but the paint doesn't look quite right in the photo of the hood emblem.

It's either wet, pinholed, or REALLY rockchipped, look at the front bumper too.

Looks kinda red underneath too, maybe overspray??

The interior looks really worn. That usually leaves me wondering if the car was abused or went poorly maintained. To make it worth over $30K would require major investment in new interior and other cosmetics like engine compartment. Of course you need a PPI. If that shows problems suddenly the Buy It Now price doesn't look so good.

Looks like the car was originally white from the looks of the belly pan.

It looks like a good 65K mile "driver" to me. The underside look correct to me. The "overspray" along the bottom edges looks Factory. The seats look barely worn. The bolsters usually get worn more but they may have been redyed.

Are you sure, I've seen a fair number of belly pans on 911's and they are all the same color as the rest of the body.

Kurt,
No, I'm not positive but I think the concours guys try to duplicate the factory overspray. My '86 is white so I can't use it as proof one way or the other. I think the bellypans I've seen were a fainter shade of the body color. I don't know if they were just dirty or oversprayed that color. Anyone with a red mid '80's 911 want to comment?

On my (brick red) '83 930 the belly pan is body color, no fainter, no brighter.

Sub 30K offers are around all over these days on what appears to be fine looking 930's. I have looked at a couple myself. The way prices have imploded on the 964 and newer 911's i have resisted the urge to "reach" for one of these 930's even though i am in the market. Of ocurse i trade options for a living and its all about the price relationship of one contract to another, and i might be drawing a relation in the price of these cars that does not exsist. Or i might just be rambleing on and on, It looks like a nice car but there are more and more sub 30k 86 and 87 930's around these days some with lower miles too.
