Clutch cable clevis removal
Do you press the clutch pedal in to get to the clevis pin?
Replacing the pedal box, anything else I should be aware of? ![]() |

I used some penetrating oil and an open end wrench and was able to remove mine.

Did you disconnect the cable at the rear yet? Then the pedal goes down and you can get at the clip.

With all the brake fluid under the pedal box what should I do to prep that area?
Also, do you grease the little ball joints? |

Any ideas on if I need to treat that area that had break fluid on it?

IF I am removing the clutch cable at the trans, will I then need to get a feeler gauge and readjust the clutch once I put it back together?
Do I loosen the forward nut on the clutch cable mount at the trans? Will that release tension to the front of the car? |

Yes you will need to readjust the clutch.
Hook a bungee cord on the clutch pedal to hold it in the up position then loosen the nut on the cable and remove it.

The clutch pedal isn't connected to the clutch cable.... i'm putting in the new pedal box now, everything is connected except the clutch cable at the pedal box.
Like John suggested, I will need some slack to connect it. I just wasn't sure where I get the slack from. The two nuts inline at the transmission. For adjusting you loosen the forward nut, does that release all the tension allowing me to pull the cable forward enough to get the clevis pin into the cable? |

I just put it back on. I remember it being a ***** to get my hands on it but I was about to maneuver it on. The bungee cord to hold up the clutch pedal is a good idea, don't want it snapping down.

I can't get the clutch cable forward enough to get it onto the clutch pedal arm. I know I have to disconnect the clutch cable from the trans, just not sure EXACTLY how to do this.

Did you replace the clevis? There is a spec on how far to screw it on (so the adjusting nuts at the transmission are in the right place). Bentley says 17-22mm of threaded cable end screwed into the clevis.
