Jeez Wayne, After writing the most comprehensive book on engine rebuilding, I thought you would catch your breath, You are nothing if not totally sincere on offering the best manual for rebuilding 911 Motors that I have ever seen (Since 1976) With your follow-up, it is just incredible, I remain amazed and in awe, Doug

There is a small error on Page 10. Under "Sump Plate and Oil Drain Plug" the selection menu reads "Select oil temperature sender"

Also under "Clutch kits" the "Sachs Power Clutch" is listed twice (maybe you are just trying to sell more of these )

Also, when I finished step 12 it took me back to page 0. Although the parts list was being carried over throughout the phases, I expected some kind of final summary page.

I selected:

A-105-361-00 Chain Sprocket Wheel

And there was a blank instead of a price

The selection reads:

"Six Camshaft Shims, 911/911 Turbo (1965-89) $1.10 each"

But the list reads:

"A-105-561-00 Pulley Shim, 911 (1965-74), 911 (1975-77 non-California models) $1.10 $6.60"

There is some kind of inconsistency here regarding the years

Congratulations, Wayne: I just "bought" $4,200 worth of parts and tools for an engine I don't even have, then got lost when the language changed to Blahese. :>

Nonetheless, it works superbly.

I noticed in the piston selection drop down for 3.0, that you have 3.0 Euro 9.3:1 compression. I thought that was 9.8:1.

Just wondering.

You've almost got me convinced to do it!!! This is exactly what I have been looking for. A tool to budget the entire project from a parts standpoint is awesome.

I know this is pushing it but what if you could have a menu driven process on a whole suite of typical changes and upgrades. For example, I know someone that wants to take a 74 Carrera with webbers and no upgrades and wants to complete a re-build that includes a Euro 2.7 with webbers along with chain tensioners, the required cams, etc.,etc.

I can almost do that now, but I don't know what goes with what. I realize the information may be included in the Performance Handbook, but a menu driven process that asked you questions as you "built" your new engine in cyberspace would be awesome.

I need to get the book and then I will make my decision about who will do my re-build, me or the wrench. Great work!

Thanks for all the feedback, I have fixed most of these small problems. I haven't reviewed each item in supreme detail, so I think I'll catch a few more errors.

Mark, what you're talking about may be good foder for version two. Right now, this has taken me over 40 hours to put together, and I'm a bit tired of working on it...

You did all of that in 40 hours?? Jeez, maybe you should give up your day job. I hope you have the energy to finish. I will be doing something with my car towards the end of the calendar year and I will use this to budget.
