915 Transmission Fluid Refill
I have a 915 transmission in my 914 and had to drain it to fix some leaks. I'm ready to refill it but as you can see in the pic, its on an angle because the back end is up on ramps. I was wondering if I fill it at this angle if there will be too much or not enough fluid if its up to the fill plug? Or should I just get the front end up to get it level before filling?

Lower the trans, unlike lowering the 911 engine with constraint on oil lines, 914/6, there is nothing to stretch from lowering the trans

For simplicity, I'd put a carpenter's level on the door sill and raise the nose with a floor jack until level. Torque the drain plug and remove the fill plug before lifting. Then lift the car and fill. Replace the fill plug finger tight. Drop car, then torque the fill plug.
Safety first, belt & suspenders. Leave your floor jack in place, but place jackstands or tires for secondary emergency support in front. |

And make sure the fill plug can be removed before you drain the transmission.
Don't get overly crazy about it, but try to get the vehicle close to level front to back, and side to side then fill it.
