I heard that each book comes with a fold out centerfold spread of a Black Audi Wagon, which, when you reach that page, is to be ritualistically torn out of the book, cursed at, and finally ripped up, before you may resume your reading.

^ Have to admit it was not a stellar moment about 15 years ago, but it did ruin the group photos, says the owner of five non-wagon Audis over the years.

For coupon codes, did you try your R Gruppe member number or forum username?

I'll have 75k into mine and I did every single thing to make it happen. 400 BHP / less than 2200 pounds and they'll never invite me into "the group" what they don't know is I could care less about being a member of any "exclusive" group. 😁 reminds me of one of those Golf clubs. ![]() ![]() Edit: probably closer to $100k into it, Last edited by Fixer; 06-06-2020 at 07:06 AM.. |

Any time I hear "Black Audi Wagon", I cannot help but remember my late, great friend Mark "Drago" Sanders, "Mr. Black Audi Wagon" himself. RIP, good buddy.

Nothing exclusive about it. Hell, they let me in. Since it is all volunteer, we limit membership numbers to keep, things manageable. And yes, we don’t entertain egos, jerks, street racers or whiners since life is just too short. That said, members move on, quit, or pass-on, so places open up. So if you are none of the above, locate a local chapter and see if you get yourself invited to a meeting or dinner, when COVID madness ends, and determine if there is a fit. Have no idea about the current member count or openings but give it a shot.
And Bill, no worries. Many pre-judge others before knowing what they are all about.

Those of you who remember the infamous "Black Audi Wagon" incident don't have to be reminded just what an internet schitt show it turned into. Drago was the instigator and the driving force behind all of it, relentlessly going after the R Gruppe with an unholy zeal. He was merciless.
So, we had a little pow-wow, in which I proposed we do what any such group of "ass holes" would do - so I invited him to join the club. He eagerly accepted. Later that year, Drago found himself riding shotgun with me on our chapter's trip to California for our our annual club gathering, our "Treffen". It was time for him to meet Cris and, let me tell you, poor Mark was about a nervous as a whore in church. Scared to death after the schlamazle he had stirred up. Long story short, Mark and Cris became fast friends. Mark went on to become an integral part of our Pac West chapter, a very enthusiastic member. He was taken from us all too soon.

Here's an image from my archives. The black Audi wagon (BAW) from this angle only gives an inkling of its presence, but it did put a kabosh on a planned group "ducktail shot". I think someone was talking about a Guiness record, but the beer came later that evening.
