A tool I never knew existed - tie rod boot installer

I was trying to replace some boots on my Elephant racing tie rods.

The opening in the tie rod boot is around 10mm in diameter.
The tie rod end/joint that it has to squeeze over is around 36x30mm.

See the problem?

Turns out that there is special tool that makes this a snap!

This the boot:

This is the tool:

Here's how it works:

Done!

Thanks for posting, heard there was a tool for this but I’d never seen it. Source for boots and tool?

I bought the tool on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/333684164049

Since that link will go away at some point. Here's a picture:

The boots are from Elephant Racing but they are not listed on their web site (that I could find).
From my order "RERS-3 Boot for rod ends 1/2 inch". I paid $15.00 each.

Hope that helps.

This is good to know, and yes similar tools exist for stitching medical / sutures for surgery and some kinds of fabric sewing.. I need to replace a tiny boot too. I temporarily patched it with a Rema bicycle tube repair kit.
