Anyone have experience with Yokohama AVS ES100's? Any comparisons to the Bridgestone SO-3's? Recommendations, Opinions?

I have the ES100's on the 808 as my rain tire and sure didn't like them relative to my regular racing tires. That is my limited experience.
There was a thread on this a week or two ago and Randy Wells favored the SO-3's, he said he's driven on both.

Thanks, I'll look for Randy's thread.

Seems that the ES100's are not in the same class as the S-03's. Why that is I do not know. I do know the cost of the S-03 is almost double of the ES100. Most everybody around here that bought the ES100 are quite pleased with them. I don't know about track use though.
When TireRack did a test of the ES100's, these tires were compared against "lesser" tires than the S-03: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/testResultsModel.jsp?tireModel=AVS+ES100&tireMake=Yokohama Being that i'm semi-cheap, I wanted to get a set of ES100's but the 245/45's are back ordered until June. ![]() The one thing I liked about the ES100's is the section width of these tires is typically bigger than other tires in the same size. More rubber for your dollar????? I dunno. It seems that the shape of the tire shoulder is more squared than other tires. So I settled for Kumho Ecsta MX's (205/55, 225/50). Maybe i'll try the ES100's next time when they're available.
