Starting u after 4 years of storage

I just took a run in my 77 911 after 4 years. Although I regularly started the car up at least once a month did not put in on the road at all. I was slowly trying to put it back to original shape. I found that the injector O rings were like rocks, and replace all 6, as I could not get the idle speed down. I still am not able to get it down below 1100 rpm by turning the 'big' screw. After 4 years I pumped 48 liters of gas in to t today too. I know that things must be gummed-up. It is a 43 year old car no doubt. As far as I can see the motor runs strong. What the parts I should replace to get the motor to run smooth? Spark plugs are new and the injectors are cleaned and spray pattern checked.

The phenolic sleeves are probably due to be replaced along with the air box to runner boots and intake gaskets.

Once you dive into replacing any rubber on your cis system I'm sure you're to find most of the other rubber goods are past due.

Probably can’t go wrong replacing all of the hoses, seals and gaskets for the intake on an older engine, but it might be prudent to smoke test or another one of many ways to verify you have an air leak before throwing parts at it.

CIS gets expensive fast just guessing and replacing. Search for the thread on CIS for dummies and it has lots of info on testing and troubleshooting.

Did an hours drive mostly over 60mph on the highway. She pulls like a train. Did not want to push over 90mph. The idle speed is still 1400. I see some oil drips under the rear part of the motor after 2 hrs, now. Oil is clean. Exhaust has a light coating of oil. I overfilled it 2 years ago. What a mess. Oil all over. The smoking after that is no more.

Also check the age of the tires, just to be on the safe side..

Thanks, New tires installed in 2016. I noticed that she backfires a bit and tries to stall when I press on the gas pedal after a cold start. Trying to roun-up a smoke generator............

if it idled correctly before, no one has adjusted the idle while it sat so I would have left that alone and figured out what was making it idle hi.

could be air leaks, could be stuck AAR or no power to the AAR.
there are lots of places behind the AFM for air leaks too.
could even be no vac to the vac retard on the dist.
