Any Interest in 17" Fuchs Alloys?

Yes, 17" alloys. We're setup with a company that is providing us with our replica BMW wheels:

http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopcart/BMWM/POR_BMWM_WHEELS_main.htm

and they also have available 17" replica Fuchs alloys. These aren't the old replicas that had the sharp edges on the pinwheels, these actually look indistinguishable from the originals. These are also 17".

I found that interesting...

???

Are they forged or preasure cast? Would the Fuch center be replicas of a 16 inch rim or did they increase the center diameter too?
Would they be available in 8 and 10 inch widths with different off sets?

Do you have a pic Wayne?

I figure I'm out of luck either way - I'd want small width's and funny offsets (for narrow body).

I think it's great that companies are still making replica Fuchs. THe 17" size is a nice upgrade for the right street car.

I do hope that they consider producing 15" and 16" sizes considering the ageing fleet of wheels out there, and the cast number of early 911's that will likely need replacements in the next 5-10 years.

I have a set of 16's that I've been holding on to just for this occasion. Wayne is this the type of deal were you send in your Fuch's and get 17's back? I would prefere forged Rim halves.
Like the company Jack went through

count me in...sounds like the perfect combo for my new engine, a nice set of 17's and a little wide rubber!

Would they offer the larger offset for us without flares?

Since mine are the wrong backspacing for my new RSR flares, I have two sets of 17's (8x10x17 and 8x9x17) that I'm selling now. They fit under SC or Carrera flares. Email me if you're interested.

Cool

I'll interested if there will be wheels with correct offset and size for 1990 C4 . Then, I guess I'll have to start searching for a ducktail as well.

I'm definitely interested but there are a couple important questions. Are they cast or forged? If they are cast forget it. How much do they weigh? The wonderful advantage to Fuchs is their extremely light weight while retaining toughness. Lastly, if they are forged and comparatively light, do they have the strength and durability of the original? The originals won't break unless bounced off of a solid object and they will bend like a steel wheel instead of crack like a cast wheel when crunched.

Wayne
p.s. A price under $100 each would be nice too! (Hey, Christmas is coming. It could happen!)

Well,

I'd probably be interested in a set of 17x7s if the price was right.

Absolutely, if forged, and available in 8 and 9.5 with proper backspacing to fit in a narrow-bodied car.

If they were to be forged, I'm sure that would have been said from the start.

Next we'll hear "Pressure cast . . .. almost like forging"

I woke up on the cynical side today.

I would love a set of 17" Fuchs but the import tax might be touch prohibitive. Otherwise I'd be biting Jack's hand off for his!
