Wheel Bearing Spacer Question

Changed everything wheel bearing related. I put the hub back, I’m noticing that it doesn’t go all the way to the end, there’s a slight space in the back as if the seal doesn’t go flush with the spacer. I didn’t pay attention to it when I took the hub off so wondering if this is right. Tried pushing it more but that’s as far as it goes and don’t want to use brute force. Check out the pic, you can actually see the spacer from the top.

What you guys think, does this look right?

Is the seal flush with the rear face of the hub?

Due to axle shaft wear I have taken to peining the axle where the inner race goes. Makes it hard to get the race to slide on, so quite a bit of force needed. Downside was need to cut the inner race when removing the hub next time (couldn't find my pullers).

But the most obvious issue would be not getting the inner outer race all the way seated. So I'd use brute force - these parts are very strong. Can't get a really good purchase on the lock nut, but you can use a suitable tube to drive things in. Easy to see if you have made progress.

If you drive it like this, I'd expect the race to move on its own after a while, and you could just keep checking the play and tightening until that stops. But there can be some risk doing this.

Or pull the hub and use the tools you used to seat that race to see if it will move deeper until it hits its stop.

Thanks Walt. Figured out the issue. It wasn’t the outer race it was actually the spacer on the spindle. It wasn’t all the way in which prevented the hub/outer race to sit properly. There was about 2mm still to go. A couple of more hits and it got seated flush with the back of the spindle. After that the hub went in all the way and it sits perfectly.
