Pertronix with MSD Streetfire

Hi. At the risk of boring many with yet another Pertronix wiring question I need to ask further questions. Apologies all round! I have a 1970 911T with a Bosch distributor, I fitted the MSD Streetfire and everything was working ok. My points failed recently and I'm changing to the Pertronix. Does anyone have this set up and can tell me which wires the red and black from the Pertronix connect to? There seems to be different advice ie red to coil/red to live switch, black to coil/black to purple??? I'm baffled and whatever I'm trying the car turns but doesn't start. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Pertronix/ MSD

Red wire to Pertronix is 12V with key on. --Power to the Pertronix
Black wire from Pertronix connects to the white wire on the MSD. Signal from Pertronix
Harness from MSD--These wires will be together --Orange wire to + side of coil
Black wire to - side of coil

The engine starts and can remain at idle however, thrown up a couple of other issues. The rev counter has stopped working. I have Bob's Tach Adapt fitted to work with the MSD and it was working fine but now bounces slightly at tha bottom of the dual and doesn't move as reeves increase. The engine is running rough but my timing light which worked fine with the points is now working intermittently but not enough to time the engine.

On my 71T I run MSD 6A with Petronix and no Tach adapter. Everything works fine.

OMG another option ha ha, I’ll give it a try. Any idea why my timing light is no picking up from no1 now?? Is this due to the Pertronix?
