wrong stop position rear wiper Targa 86

My wiper rests in the middle of the rear window. I assume this is not the correct position, but should be resting at the left side. What is wrong here?

lift the wiper from the window (avoid scratching) and cycle through wiper on and off a few times. Observe the resting point each time. Once you have determined that spot, reposition the wiper to the driver's side of the glass. The wiper blade should rest in a vertical position.

Not my car.... but here is what its suppose to look like

are you sure about this? In my case the wiper goes from the mid position to the left , so if I reposition the arm to the left, it will move over to scratch the body no?

Correct. Don't reposition the arm if it sweeps to the left, then all the way to the right and finally back to park in the middle.

Instead, you need to re-adjust the arm on the wiper motor. As I recall, the arm on the wiper motor should point straight to the right when parked.

adjustment can be done with everything left in place. Just loosen the nut that holds the arm with a 10mm ratchet, unscrew it as far as possible but still holding some threads (putting the nut back on afterwards seemed like a challenge given the A/C radiator I have in). Pop the arm upward away from the motor with a fat screwdriver (it holds on a conical spline), and rotate it till the wiper arm is in the correct left position (in my case that was a 90° rotation). Tighten the nut. That's it
