I'm a yes. But it was a SC engine from a dead car.

I voted no, but I did remove a Subaru engine from my 911 to restore it. Doesn't count in my opinion and upset that my first engine drop was a Subaru and not a 911.

Retired, finally
|
Not the 911, but I have replaced a 326 CID with a 455 CID in a 1965 LeMans, and the 2.4L in my 240Z with a bored/stroked 2.9L.

heh heh - I thought we might see a poll on this topic
I've done it way too many times (trying to diagnose a starter alignment issue), plus a couple times to upgrade from 2.7 CIS to 3.2 hotrod. |

The question for me should be how many times! I have to say at least a dozen times and I will be adding to that total tomorrow.

I'm good with tools.

I voted No because I did not remove my current 911. But I have 1, 911 under my belt, 5 LS pulls and reinstalls,1 LT V8 Chevy, 1 TPI Chevy, 2 VW's, 1 Hemi, 3 Pontiac 400 and 455's and about 10 small block Chevys under my belt.

Gary Emory removed my 2.4 and installed my 2.7. Then I removed the 2.7 and installed my hotrod 3.0 twin plug engine. Also removed it to have the transmission rebuilt.

Ivan back in the 1988 we did with a friend race how fast you can change a clutch on 911 Carrera-we had 2 1985 models in shop ..The car would be sitting on the hoist, tools ready on carts and tool boxes..i did it 46 minutes and i drove off the hoist.... my budd in 52 ..and yes we drank plenty to celebrate..those were the good days.... and yes i did work full time here.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjpaoixgOgA

Thats awesome!
I have dropped my engine once using jackstands and removing the rear bumper. I found it quite easy but I took my sweet time with it, I definitely wasn’t going to win any race! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Several times several cars. Just today dropped the 3.0 and 915 out of my 911 racecar to swap in another 915 for my last race of the season. Leisure pace by myself, 3hrs between driving into garage and setting the old 915 onto the workbench.
