Rennline adjustable pedal vs Wings Third Foot

Hey folks,

I’m looking to replace my accelerator pedal to facilitate better control of heel/toe and rev matching. I can manage with the stock pedal but it takes some contortion of my ankle and after a while it starts to become a strain. I don’t race or track my car so I suppose this is an exercise in want vs need.

I’ve done a bit or research and narrowed the choices to the Rennline fully adjustable pedal and the Wings Third Foot. They both look like fantastic pieces of kit and both receive rave reviews from users.

Is there anyone here that has used both that can speak to the differences?

I bought a Wings pedal when i first started doing DE’s with my 911 ... eventually i found that it was cumbersome after i got better at heel and toe.
Best advice i can give is to practice with everything you drive , i heel and toe with my Subaru , my previous Mazda and anything i drive with a manual transmission.
It will come naturally with practice !

Odd pedals increase your chance of catching your foot on weird protrusions.

To increase your skill with heel/toe the best thing is to get a car that won't idle if you take your foot off the gas and then drive it daily. If you have to keep your foot on the gas for general driving you will quickly learn to do it automatically. In addition you will learn more control than the normal "blip it" that you get from just doing during a shift. Making the car idle at a reasonable speed requires more fine control than "just stab it" will teach you.

This may seem ridiculous but it will make you quickly learn pedal work that is completely unconscious and natural.

I have the Rennline adjustable pedal and it works well. Not literally "heel and toe" but rather set at a height where I can just rock the right side of my foot a little to blip the throttle. No interference issues at all.

Is there a “factory spec” for accelerator height? My current situation makes blipping the throttle while braking extremely difficult. I just took everything out yesterday (will rebuild pedal cluster over winter) and noticed the pin going to the accelerator foot pad seems to be adjustable.
When I put things back in I would like to have a setup that is more heel-toe friendly. .

Anyone here have any input about the Rebel Racing 917 adjustable pedal? I've been eyeballing it for some time now but decided not to buy it yet. I'm having the same problem where the brake and accelerator are very offset making it difficult to roll my foot over to blip the throttle.

Brake pedal pushed in to maximum pressure , then match accelerator pedal to same hieght.
Will be a good Starting point ....

Washers stacked under the right side throttle pedal bolt can angle the top of pedal closer to the brake if needed .

I saw a hargett pedal a few months ago now that seemed rather cool .

I have driven a few student's cars on track with the Wings product through the the decades. No issues. For my '75-based race car, I have a no longer available aftermarket pedal that I modified pretty extensively.

I don't think this is a one size fits all situation. If the car is an older 911 (pre-964) with a ubiquitous stock plastic pedal, one think you can try is to make a variety of shapes with small pieces of wood. I few different prototypes with shapes and dimensions you think might help. Easy to attache small pieces of woof to teh stock pedals, and the pedals themselves aren't very expensive if you want to experiment.

In my experience with many street and track cars, one of the greatest contributors to a requirement for uncomfortable lower limb "contortion" is non-optimized height relationship between brake and gas pedal. On some cars this can be adjusted. I would tend to start with that before making any pedal mods or changes.

Hey Showdown,

I am definitely biased, as Wings is my brand... With that being said, I have experience with both products and my value proposition over the competition is the following

1. There is no need to remove your stock pedal, installation is completed with the loosening and re-tightening of just one screw (on the the third foot™ , nothing to touch on the car) and the modification is easily reversible

2. the third foot™ can be adjusted up and down for depth but also tilts forward, back and side to side
