The Berlin is (was) the top of the line Blaupunkt. It would finish an 80's 911 to perfection, in the sense of the luxury sportscar. I have one in my '95 M5, the last version with satellite navigation, CD, tape, etc... and I love it soo much.
They come up regularly on www.ebay.de

GeorgeK, what is the model number of the version(s) with CD? I took a quick look at ebay.de and they seem to be described by "IQR88". "IQR83" and so on - are these model numbers?

Also, could I use a European-market radio in the US? Are the frequency bands or tuning steps different for the FM?

The IQR 83/88, the 8000 are model versions. The model with CD is the RCM303A, but it still gets 400+ in used condition, and it doesn't have the "swan neck" command piece. The first versions have a real old looking radio piece, ca. early 70's.

early 911 sound

The sound system for your early 911 is mounted behind your rear seats. It has six higher dB speakers and (usually) one big Base speaker. Crank it up.
