Steel-look Alloy Wheels

My car has Fuchs but Fuchs were not available when it was sold new. I think the look of steel wheels is right for the car. It would be great if I could source alloy wheels that copy the steel design. I found alloy 356 wheels but can't find any for an early 911. I found a build thread on this forum where steel centers were fitted to an alloy rim. Any ideas are welcome.

What is it about the factory steel wheels that annoys you? btw, i think Fuchs were offered as early as '66, or was it in '67 with the S? Then again, many Porsche by the time the Fuchs and Steels were available, were only dealer or buyer upgrades. Many a 911T for instance came with steelies from the factory, but left the dealer with Fuchs

Hotrods by Boyd is making a billet steel-look wheel in any size or offset you'd like:

I have a '69 911T and thought the same thing about the overall look of the car. I was going for an understated retrorod look and the Fuchs just didn't work. I looked into the aluminum replicas from Coddington but they are some serious $$$$. I ended up powder coating my original 5 1/2" steelies with a "chrome" powder and they turned out great for my car. I was a little concerned at first because powder coat can't give a true chrome but they ended up actually better to me. They're a little more muted than real chrome but they definitely don't look like silver paint. They actually kind of look like polished aluminum.

I saw this on Group 4 Wheels’ Facebook page:

Home

I’m hopeful these will be halfway affordable when the are released at some point in the future. Don’t think they’re on the Group 4 website as of yet. Just scroll through their FB page if you want better pics.

Thanks for the input. I'll check on the Boyd and Group 4 wheels. I don't have a set of steelies. If I did I would mount them. Since I will be buying wheels, I'm interested in alloys.

I totally get it. It’s just the right, or preferred, look for some of us. Let us know how you proceed. Maybe others with the “steel wheel look” affliction will join us here!

As far as the black and white photo you posted goes, dang, that car looks perfect.

Maybe keep both sets to switch it up every once in a while?

Car looks sweet!

Check this site, old HRBB site. https://www.alloyreplicas.com/
For 356s , but in my opinion are the same for early 911s, they can make those according to your specs, ET, Backspace , width, paint, chromed etc.
