Borla exhaust
To those of you that have experience with Borla exhaust (on air cooled 911's specifically), care to share your thoughts especially at sustained highway speeds?

I have had my Borla exhaust on my 88 Carrera for over 30 years. Sounds great and not too loud even with cat bypass. No highway drone. Good luck with your choice.

I looked into them a while back, as I recall you should look at the weigh.
They seem to be a bit heavier than most, might be the stuffing or just heavier duty build, I don't know. If weight is a major factor you may want to research this aspect.

I recently bought back my car from the guy I sold it to. He installed a Borla, which I figured I'd convert back to stock, but I really like the sound. And with the windows up it's about the same as stock. If you want to hear the exhaust, just roll down the driver side window

Well, I bought a Borla muffler from a pelican.
The lower valence had to be removed to install the muffler but that wasn't a problem. The valence also had to be trimmed as the Borla outlet is larger dia pipe and is at a slightly different angle than the standard muffler. The exhaust note is deeper sounding (basso profundo) and a little louder than standard but in no way obtrusive . I really like it and glad I bought it. I can barely hear it at highway speeds, unless I want to. Recommended. |
