Help with door hinge pin tool
Does anyone have the tool to remove the door hinge pins for the early 911’s? It is tool number P260. I need the dimensions of the shaft length and the distance from the end of the shaft to the stop that is welded to the shaft. Thanks.

You don't mention what year your 'early' car is.
I tried to knock the pins out of my 76 with a dedicated pin removal tool. It is a very violent procedure, especially if they have never been removed. (I worked my up to a 3 lb sledge before giving up.) After I convinced myself that I was going nowhere and causing permanent damage to the door-jam sheetmetal, I removed the doors by unbolting the hinges. YMMV - my 76 was a 20 yr garage find. Bill K

My car is a 69E. I loaned my tool to a guy who somehow managed to break it. He tried to repair it by welding it back together. I need to have a new shaft made but need know the correct length. Kevin

When I removed my door I used a floor jack with a piece of 2x4 on the foot so as not to scratch the paint on the bottom of the door. This worked great to support the door and
then I just removed the bolts that fasten the hinge to the car. |

I just popped them out from the bottom with a large drift and a hammer. I put in new bushings and the door was great after that.

Thank you everyone, but what I need is the length of the factory shaft and the distance from the end of the shaft to the slide stop. I have the thread on pin end. I bought this tool a few years ago from Baum tools. Thanks, Kevin
