Covercraft dash cover opinions

I ordered this a few weeks ago and just got around to seeing how it looks. My dash is perfect and I'd like to keep it that way, and Houston is hard on dashboards. I had a carpeted dash cover on a vintage Alfa Spider and got used to the way it looked, but I'm not sure on this just yet. I haven't applied any velcro, which will make it fit tighter to the dash. I was hoping this wasn't as thick as it is and was more Alcantara-like. This is more like black velvet! Any thoughts?

Be careful with the Velcro. Once it’s been on there a while your perfect dash won’t be so perfect anymore.

I have the same....it's not something I like but in Phx/AZ it is something you need...my '83 dash has no issues.
I may just pull the dash pad and go with a carbon fiber replacement and say to hell with it. I pulled the AC long ago so do not need the vents.

Yeh I hate those things sort of says my dash is cracked and I don’t wanna spend the money to fix it. Or remember people use to put plastic covers on lampshades and furniture.
Sell it or throw it away several products out there to protect it other than a throw rug.

Use it as you would those ugly windshield reflectors; leave it loose on your dash when not driving, when driving just stow it behind your seat.

Jason

PS - doesn't look that bad to me ... and agree dreichman's comment ref velcro - don't do it

A small crack in a early Carrera requires removing the windshield, and possible replacement if it breaks on removal. Unbolting the dash, and every single item behind the dash (lot of work) the repair of the crack and a new surface for the dash or replacement and it the interior is not black, dying the dash to match the interior. And then re installation. 2 to 3 grand for a crack is a lot to spend.

Yeh I guess your right, we all see things differently, many wouldn’t blink an eye at doing the task while some don’t have the time, skills, tools et. Some would lose sleep over a cracked dash while others just wanna drive.
