What is this NOS inner fender panel from?

Ok, I’m pretty certain this isn’t 911, but I was told it was from the guy who got it in the early 1980s from a closing VW/ Porsche dealership. He said he thought there used to be a Porsche sticker on it. Been outside for 20 odd years though.

Any ideas? Anywhere more appropriate to post this?

Thanks. I’ll try posting in that forum. Maybe the 914 too.

I don't think it's for a 914. There does not appear to have been a panel mounted in front of the strut tower. This panel separated the the trunk from the fuel tank also the top of the fender looks wider than the 914's behind the strut mount.

This looks to have a three bolt fixed strut attachment. The 914 has the 911 system, where camber/caster is adjusted up there and there is an oversized hole, so it isn't from a 914. The 944s have a three hole fixed upper mount, which is what this appears to be. Alas, the drawings of this panel in the parts catalog are too sketchy for more. Perhaps there is an aftermarket 944 parts catalog which has a better representation of this panel?

That short piece of square tubing is a bit hard to figure out, though.

Not Porsche....Datsun, Z car, 260Z....or early 280Z.

Edit: it's 240z ... '69 to '73.

928 used 3 I think , but wasn’t an equal triangle around the Center like this one . More like 2 in line on Center and the third at 90 from Center .

By Jove, I believe you maybe right!! See, I knew someone would know what it was... How it came to be mixed in with VW and Porsche parts will remain a mystery I guess?

Now, what to do with it...

By the way, for comparison, this just came up for sale - 914. Similar, but not the same at all.
