Lime Green cars?

Anyone have a picture of a Lime Green (Gelbgrun) car? The color code is 137 and I think was offered from '74' through '77'. Thanks.

I once painted my 69 Mustang Lime green and discovered that although everyone seemed to think it was "cool" no one wanted to buy it when the time came

Damn cool color

The data in the CD-type disc decodes easily into ASCII computer text as follows, using 8 bit binary:
*
"Beware the bearers of FALSE gifts & their BROKEN PROMISES. Much PAIN but still time. (Damaged Word). There is GOOD out there. We OPpose DECEPTION. Conduit CLOSING (BELL SOUND)”
*
The damaged word would appear to be intended as “BELIEVE”.

Sherwood,

Thanks, that is the color. Great looking '72' 911. The color was offered both '72' and '73' as a special order color (226).

Yeah, Olive green looks great too. Hard to belive those are both "green" cars.

On the Olive 911......that is lowered right? I love that aggresive look on the early cars.

Shawn,

So there you have it from the 'Boss' . Actually I've been talking with a guy who has a '74' Euro Carrera 2.7 that he restoring to it's original color which is Lime Green. Someone along the way had painted it Silver and he is doing a somewhat extensive restoration of the car.

The car maybe for sale when it is done (he is building a house that is over budget) so the wheels are turning so to speak. Don't feel too bad for him he has a '73'RS to fall back on. He promises pictures when it is done in several weeks. When I get them I will pass them on so you can check it out.

oops, picture didnt' upload. It must be too big. Have a look at the rennlist sight in the 911 forum dated 4/07/03 thread is: "is this a legit 73 rs carrera?"

It is a very nicely restored and green 73 rs that I would love to have in my garage

Actually now that I look at the color of the '72' 911 posted by Sherwood and the 911 posted by youzoid I think the first car is Jade Green (227) and the second car is Chartruse (226) which was also called Lime Green by Peter Morgan in his book. The '74' Lime Green is a different code 137 but maybe the same shade as 226. Very confusing.

Here is a picture of that Chartruse RS that I posted on Rennlist. It is really sharp.

you're right! I just haven't gotten around to lowering it just yet....but that's definitely on the "to do" list. Along with changing to H4 lights....other than than, I like it stock, just the way it rolled off the assembly line back in 1970, more than 30 years ago.

This is my 1978 SC Euro, to my knowledge this is a factory Lime Green Color. Color number on driver's door jamb is 275-9-3. It is a metallic type paint and get's lot's of LQQKS where ever I take it.
Hope this is the one your looking for.

Don,

Great color! Peter Morgan's book lists 275 as Light Green Metallic. The Glasurit site lists it as Lindgruen Metallic. I think Lime Green probably has more yellow in it than the color of your car.

BTW Don I'm located in La Porte just 30 or so miles west of you. I recognize your name from the Michiana Club info. It will be easy to put you together with your car now.
