attach door panel clips

the door panel clips are larger than the hole in the new door panel, how do i attach the clips without destroying the hole provided ?
the old panel was “soft” from age and long time wear, which made it easier to manipulate and the clip spun in. are there other, more compatible, clips I should use?

Just did this. Screw them in like any other door panel clip, pliers help. May have to bend one of the 'teeth' to get it started easier like I did.
