Caliper adaptor identification..

Brakes.. I know.. hundreds of threads.. I searched and searched but came up short.

I purchased some front boxster calipers with adaptors, planned to use them as a stop gap on my Carrera until I was ready to jump to actual bigger brakes. That was my first mistake (should have just went the 993 C2 caliper route to begin with, because that’s where I’m at now).

Well I went to put them on over my Carrera rotors and the caliper was mounted at the correct height. But not offset correctly, the outboard pad guide pins were pressing against the rotor. Almost as if I needed to machine about 3-4mm off the side that mounts to the strut.

My second mistake was finding a 993 caliper adaptor technical drawing (allegedly the same as VCI).. after measuring the height and offset of these adaptors (both from the on center of the given bolt hole in the drawing) they were within .5-1mm of being the correct offset and height, which I could definitely work with if that were the case.. Wrong. They mount the caliper very close to center over the 309x32mm wilwood rotor I’m using (with rebel hats) but they want about 6-7mm more in height.

Is it possible this is an adaptor meant for 20mm SC rotors. I never thought that might exist because why would you not use the Carrera 24mm rotor? There’s a part number on it but it brings back nothing when searching.

I’m at the point where I’m ordering the Patrick Motorsport adaptor for 993 calipers, so I can mount these brakes and be done with it. So I want to pass these adaptors on, but I want to make sure I have the correct information to go with them to save any potential buyer these same headaches. Does anyone recognize them? They don’t look like TRE, stromski, or rebel. Nice black anodized finish.

Thanks in advance

Yes. I’ve used those exact adapters in the past and they indeed are for the SC rotors.
